The first ten people to pre-order a copy of Sharp Shooter will receive a free copy of one of my SFF books (select at  www.mariannedepierres.com ). Just email the name of the retailer through which you have pre-ordered Sharp Shooter, your choice of my SFF books, and a postal address to: marianne at mariannedepierres dot com.

Only two or three places left. Hurry!

I’ve got the prettiest little bookmarks for Sharp Shooter, I can’t wait to slip one in someone’s copy.

Meanwhile, I’m getting ready to go to Sydney and Perth next week where I’ll be a guest at Supanova Pop Expo. I’ll be taking my Sharp Shooter posters and bookmarks with me to have at my booth. I’ll also get a chance to pop into Allen and Unwin and see Louise. It will be good to be able to thank everyone in person, who have worked on the book with me. September 1st is the release date. I’m trying not to wish days away but…

Whatever that means… it was the exclamation I made when I saw that Sharp Shooter is in the Allen and Unwin catalogue, straight after the iconic Thomas Keneally. I think it’s probably the closest Tom and I will ever get to each other, but I still feel honoured.

And, I’ve got my new bookmarks, so call past my stall at Supanova in Sydney and Perth and I’ll give you one.

You also might have notice the Parrish widget in the right hand sidebar. Parrish is the kick arse character from one of my SF series. You can get her widget from my Marianne de Pierres website, and soon you’ll be able to get a Tara Sharp widget as well.

I popped into my local bookshop today and they had a proof copy of  Sharp Shooter. YAY! I just had to touch it to make sure it was real. Now is the tough part… when you start hearing what people think of the book. Time to brush off the review armour.

Sharp Shooter is now listed on Allen and Unwin’s website and it’s coming out in trade paperback (the big format). This is my first ever book to come out in ‘C’, so I’m pretty excited about it.

Have a look for yourselves.

I asked many times over the years on the marketing strategy behind ‘which books are released in which format’, and I’m still pretty fuzzy about it. If anyone can enlighten me, I’d be grateful.

Due to name changes during the book’s evolution, I’ve moved to a new URL. Something that will make more sense when it’s searched. Please update your bookmarks.

In the meantime, I’m still offering a free science fiction novel for the first ten people to pre-order Sharp Shooter. All you need to do is email the name of the retailer you’ve ordered it through, and your address for postage. Some people have told me that their local bookshop doesn’t have the book listed yet. It seems that sell in is taking a little longer than I thought, so try your bookseller again in two weeks.

So far on my list of freebies:

Ruth, Annabelle, Arun, Robbie K, Debbie P.

I have tried to import the comments and posts from the old site but it won’t work for me. Sigh. I guess we’ll just have to get chatting here.
