I have my beautiful advance copy, complete with ackowledgements and dedication. So many people are part of any single book, that its ridiculous to think of it as one person’s achievement. It’s really a glorious collaboration. So today I’m thanking all my many, many collaborators, some of who I’ve never even met, or know their names. Particular thanks, however, go to Louise Thurtell, Alex Nahlous, Ali Lavau, Vicki Gutierrez and Tara Wynne, Tansy Rayner Roberts and Rowena Lindquist.

The lovely Alex Nahlous from Allen and Unwin has informed me that I’ll be getting some advance copies very soon. Weeeee! And some things are afoot for the launch in early September, which I’ll be able to talk about soon.

So far on my list for freebies I have:

Ruth C, Robbie K, Arun D, Annabelle A, Jamie M, Matt and Melinda J.

That leaves me with four free copies left. Not too late to win a free SF novel (By Marianne de Pierres – me!) by pre-ordering a copy of Sharp Shooter from your bookseller, then letting me know the details. For those of you who already have *all* my novels, then you can either get a free book voucher, or a second signed copy of anything I’ve written, including Sharp Shooter.

Offer only lasts until September 1st, 2009.

… and I’m brewing up the details for the launch of Sharp Shooter. In the meantime, review copies have gone out and I’m in the calm before the storm. I’m yet to hear what anyone other than my trusted readers and publishers think of the book, so it’s a nervewracking sort of calm. The kind of calm that gets Tara Sharp doing crazy things…

The Get Sharp widget is posted in the sidebar but infortunately wordpress won’t let me paste the html code as well. So if you would like a Get Sharp virtual bookmark, please email me and I’ll send the code to you that way.

I signed my first book as Marianne Delacourt this week, for Jeremy at Dymocks in Perth. It was kinda of weird but very cool as well.
In Sydney I got to talk to Louise and some of the Allen and Unwin people about the marketing and publicity plan. Keep your eyes peeled for posters in shopping centres throughout the month of September. Photos of them greatly appreciated!
