Many thanks to Terry from Brookside A&R, Pam and the Arana Hills library staff for being so hospitable. The crowd was small but asked lots of good questions and made the hour fly by. I got lost coming home – Pine Mountain Rd seems to exist in many incarnations – I thought I’d entered an alternate reality of roads there for a while.

In other news, I have a guest blog coming up on Fleur McDonald’s blog soon, and on December 1st I will be part of a Queensland Writer’s Centre blog tour.

Now for some weekend time.

Great article in today’s Courier Mail (ETC section) written by Fiona Purdon, on how I came to write Sharp Shooter. Not sure if it’s available online, but if I find a link I will post it. I’m heading off to Arana Hills in a moment. Unfortunately, Kylie had been smitten with swine-like flu and won’t be there. However, the good news is that her next book, Earth to Hell, will be in bookshops in Decemeber. I’ll blog more about it soon.

If anyone is following the Facebook whodunnit, then I’d appreciate some feedback. I’m getting the idea that it might be too hard to follow for those that haven’t read the book.

Wow, it’s Friday already. This is a last reminder that Kylie Chan and I will be at Arana Hill’s library tomorrow. Brookside signing – 31st October (held in the Arana Hills library, 12 – 1.30). For enquiries or bookings please ring: Angus and Robertson Brookside (07) 38551612 0r Pam or Karen at the library (07) 33513401

Also, Tara Sharp’s whodunnit posts for the week will be in the Fully Dead section (right hand menu), later today. We’re getting close to finding out who set Toad up for a murder rap, and what Nick Tozzi is hiding.

Had a most enjoyable seminar with Kim Wilkins WEP students last night, they were fab. And if you haven’t read Kim Wilkins’ (aka Kimberley Freeman) books, then you should!

Have beautiful, happy, shiny weekend, my friends.

Recently, two bookclubs have picked up Sharp Shooter as one of their reads. One club here in Brisbane, and another one in Perth. I hope Tara Sharp gives them plenty to talk about.

At the moment she’s keeping me entertained getting into all sorts of trouble in Book 2. The working title is Sharp End but that may change, depending on how it all pans out. If you’ve got any great plays on the word Sharp, please feel free to make suggestions. I seem to be in a book giving mood lately, so if I end up using your suggestion, you’ll get acknowledgement in the book and a free copy. Get your brains busy.

This was spotted in the Crime Round-up by Jeff Popple:

“Providing a lighter side to the PI formula is Sharp Shooter (Allen & Unwin, $29.99) by Australian author Marianne Delacourt. Introducing unemployable, 20-something, ex-private school girl Tara Sharp, Sharp Shooter is the first Australian crime novel to successfully venture into Janet Evanovich territory and is a good fun read from beginning to end.”

Plus a great big author piccie!

I love stumbling across nice reviews! Gloss Magazine in NZ said this about Sharp Shooter…  ’At times absolutely hilarious, this book is a fantastic escapist easy read – perfect for a rainy Sunday or a long day at the beach. I read it in a day. Really enjoyable.’  4/5

Next weekend, Kylie Chan and I will be at the Arana Hills library talking about ‘Getting Published’. This event is conjunction with the Brookside Angus and Robertson bookstore and our books will be on sale. Detail as as follows: Brookside – 31st October (held in the Arana Hills library, 12 – 1.30) with Kylie Chan. For enquiries or bookings please ring: Angus and Robertson Brookside (07) 38551612 0r Pam or Karen at the library (07) 33513401

If you haven’t got your signed copy of Sharp Shooter yet, that would be the perfect time. If you can’t make it, then please check the Appearance page for the list of other signings before Christmas.

Ripped from Lindy Cameron on Facebook. Taken just as we were leaving.

Funtabulous evening with Tara Moss, Emma Boling and the Sisters in Crime. A bonus to see Lucy Sussex and Jamie there.

Met some neat new people – good luck with your novels grrls at NaNoWriMo. And Chris, thanks for the copy of your book.
