REDBACK by Lindy Cameron

“Redback” is an action packed, fast paced thriller of the very best kind. It takes the reader from Australia to the Pacific Islands; from Japan to London and the USA and everywhere in between in an intricately crafted plot that never misses a beat – and is never predictable.
On the one hand, you have an American journalist researching the war-game training given to soldiers who uncovers links between Western government agencies and known terrorist groups. Are these really war-games or something far more sinister?
At the same time, Bryn Gideon, butt-kicking head of the elite “Redback Retrieval Team” is assigned to rescue hostages from Pacific Island rebels. What begins as a simple (well, simple for them) rescue mission, soon becomes something much bigger – and much more deadly than they had bargained for.
Ritual killings in London and Tokyo, a bomb on a European train, an assassination on an Australian beach, and an attack on a US army base have half the world on high alert. But for what? Or whom?
With so many plot lines running concurrently, a lesser author may have well, lost the plot. Not so Cameron who keeps the reader on the edge of their seat, smattering clues and titbits of information throughout and then, miraculously, tying it all up flawlessly at the book’s conclusion.
If killer plots and strong characters – both male and female, aren’t enough, throw in Cameron’s wit and genius for political satire and you’re onto a winner.
“Redback” is a must-read for lovers of crime and espionage thrillers.
