Postcards from the Other Side, the first co-authored book from psychic couple Ezio and Michelle De Angelis, offers compelling insight into the age-old question; what lies beyond the veil? More than just a sneak-peek at what to expect from the afterlife, Postcards is a comprehensive guide to the spirit world for anyone who has ever wanted to know more. It is a tribute to those who have passed and a comfort to those left behind. In Postcards I found what I was expecting, and so much more.

Not having read anything from this field before, I was worried that the ideas would be beyond my understanding, but the way that Ezio and Michelle have written this book makes it perfect for beginners. It is a warm and friendly read; welcoming to newcomers and, I imagine, comfortable to those who regularly read books on mediums. While the ideas in Postcards are very different to my own, they are introduced in such a way that I never felt overwhelmed by them. For those who have read extensively into books on mediums or spirituality and are already familiar with some of these ideas, there are so many lovely stories of grief and hope in Postcards that it will still entrance from beginning to ending.

The book covers every aspect of the spiritual realm and spiritual journeys that make up our lives and the lives of those who have departed. With the journey told primarily through the eyes of T.J., a young man who was tragically killed at the age of sixteen, Ezio and Michelle explore realms beyond our own in a bid to bring clarity to those who have ever wondered about what lies beyond.

While I read this, questions about the implications of things that Ezio and Michelle had said arose consistently. I wondered where religion fitted into all of this. If the other side is about everything being connected and everything going back to where it came from; how do the stories of people who had died briefly and seen Heaven fit in? All of the questions that arose were answered to my satisfaction well before the last page of Postcards had been turned.

It is obvious from their writing and observations that Ezio and Michelle are passionate about what they do. Their ethical stance and commitment to the spirits who come to them and their families makes this a warming if often heart-breaking read. The world that unfolds within the pages of Postcards is one of love, joy and forgiveness. It is a beautiful idea that I wish was true even though I can’t quite believe it is.
