The best thing about this is being on top of Michael Connelly, who I love!

The Angus and Robertson Top 5 Crime are on the left of the page.

Just heard that Sharp Shooter is the new number 1 in Angus and Robertson’s Top 5 recommended Mystery and Crime books.

Had a nice signing at A&R Chermside today. A special thank you to Julie for putting up a spectacular display and making me feel so welcome. Met some lovely people and sold copies of Tara Sharp. Had a little girl up come up out of the blue (her parents were nearby having coffee) to tell me that she liked my hair. She then engaged me in intelligent and thoughtful conversation about writing. I was truly entranced. I think she’ll grow up to be President of the World.

My hair seems to open conversations with people. I think I’ll keep it like this.

I’ll be signing at the Angus and Robertson Northlakes store this Saturday 10 am – 12 pm. The shop is too small to fit more than one author at a time, so when Kylie and I were there last time we had to sit out in the corridor. This time I’m returning solo so I can sit inside the shop. I’d love to see some familiar Northside faces, or meet some new ones!

I’m slowly starting to get out and about again for the year and just updated my Appearances page. For those too lazy to click on it, here  is some upcoming stuff:

Like your Mysteries Local? Marianne will be part of Crime Writers Panel at the Logan Library on 8/3/10 from 10am-12pm. Other writers include Karen Tyrell, Pat Noad, Anne Infante and Breanda Cross. Registration required.

Signings

Angus and Robertson Northlakes store – March 13th, 10am-12pm

Borders Chermisde – TBA

And of course…. Supanova and the PWF. I will be in Melbourne briefly after the Perth Festival for a bookseller event but haven’t scheduled any signings.

Carindale signing on xmas eve (11am-1pm). I may be slightly hysterical, but I’ll be there… Thanks to the people at Burleigh Heads and Pac Fair who bought copies of Sharp Shooter.

Other than that, am working on book 2, waking up in the morning, head filled with the escapades that Tara has gotten herself into. Vive l’imagination!

I’ll be at Angus and Robertson Pacific Fair (11-1pm) this Saturday, and Burleigh Heads (11am-1pm) on Sunday. And my final gig will be with Kylie Chan at Carindale (11-1pm) store on the 24th. We’ll be the ones in the Santa hats. Ho, ho,ho!

Other than that, hunkering down with Tara Sharp Book 2, heading towards a February deadline.

Indooroopilly was fun as a few people dropped by to say hello. Belinda-darl brought in her chainmail jewellry for me to have a look at, and we’re concocting a plan to use it (thanks for the fruit clusters, Belinda – I ate them all! My turn to bring them next time).

Sold A&R’s last copy of Sharp Shooter, so many thanks to Cat for having us. Working today, so better get back to it.

Kylie Chan and I will be at A&R North Lakes on Saturday. Just a warning that there’ll only copies of the Sentients of Orion series (including the new one Mirror Space) on sale. If anyone wants to bring their Sharp Shooter copy in to be signed though, I’ll be happy to do that.

I’ll be at Angus and Robertson’s Stafford store this morning from 11 am – 1.30 pm. Looking forward to chatting. I’m bringing lollies!

Have also added another couple of stores in to the December schedule, including Pacific Fair and Burleigh Heads. Check the appearances list.
