“If I could have feelings at all I would have them for Deb” – Dexter Morgan
It’s not everyday a girl finds herself rooting for the serial killer, let alone developing a crush on one, but Dexter Morgan has that effect on me. He’s a monster and he knows it but he does have his own twisted code of honor- he only hurts those who have hurt others. It’s the way his foster father Harry taught him - after all one must be careful not to get caught and Dexter is nothing if not careful. Besides someone has to take out the trash.
After being called to help at a CrimeScene by his Foster sister Deb, Dexter finds himself intrigued by the new killer in town. He seems to be calling Dexter out to play. What better way to get theattention of someone whose life is blood than to leave none?
Fans of the hugely popular T.V series will enjoy this deeper delving into Dexter’s psyche and just what makes him what he is. Written with such finesse that you find yourself so drawn into Dexter’s world you feel that your living and breathing it. It’s not often I can fly through a book in one short day but Dexter and I had the pages turning at light speed. I usually do not enjoy dialogue completely in first person but it definitely worked in this instance. The plot is refreshing and character development strong. Give Dexter a try. You’ll thank yourself for it!
