Over at Book’d Out, they are making Tara Sharp very happy:

“I genuinely appreciate the authentic Australian flavor, Tara roars around town in her classic Holden Monaro and chases cheeky cockatoos.
Sharp Shooter is an enjoyable, funny and light-hearted new series that I look forward to following.”

Meanwhile at nightcreatureau, Kate says:

“Marianne has brought out the seedy underside of Perth really well, it’s not just another crime series – it’s a really addicting crime series.”

And Tara says thanks to you both!

Just got my B format advanced copy of Sharp Shooter and it is such a gorgeous HOT pink. It’s also got the first chapter of Sharp Turn in it, so if you see it in shops, have a sneak peek!

In November you’ll be able to buy Sharp Shooter in hot pink! The B format edition will be jazzing up bookshelves near you.

Well peeps, looks like it will be out earlier than I thought. Make sure you put it on your xmas shopping list. As far as I know, Sharp Shooterwill also be released around that time in small format paperback. Perfect double for someone’s stocking!

Sharp Shooter is actually on amazon.com in kindle edition. YAY!

And I’m starting the new whodunnit tomorrow. Posting it first here with a link on Facebook. Basically a reverse of what I was doing last time.

Stay tuned…

Ahem … that is … I just saw the Angus and Robertson TOP 5 Recommended Books pamphlet and Sharp Shooter is sitting up there as number 1 in the Crime section. Pick one up when your in A&R next and have a look!

Now, I’m going to stop talking about me… and start talking about you. Time for a new recommended read … No Time For Goodbye was recommended to me by a bookseller, after he’d had dinner with the author. The premise for this book really got me in …

One night, when Cynthia Archer was 14 years old, her family disappeared. Now, 25 years later, she’s about to learn what happened to her mother, father brother, and she might be better off never finding out.

The mystery sustained well to the end and there was a strongly portrayed internal conflict for the husband/narrator as he tries to discern if his wife is going crazy, or not.

This just turned up, even though it was written last year. Sharp Shooter is … “Wonderful, fast moving and laugh out loud, this is a read to get away from the real world.” Manly Daily.

Glad someone out there shares my sense of humour!

From time to time the intrawebs deliver some happy news. Tonight it came in the way of the Gold Coast libraries Top 40 recommended reading list. And guess which psychic, arse-kicking, aura-reading detective was on there…

Among the books you would expect to see on such a list eg Clan of the Cave Bear, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Kite Runner, Lord of the Rings etc, I was excited to see Rebecca James, another Allen and Unwin Aussie author on there.

If you live on the Gold Coast you can vote for the top ten. You know what to do …

‘Perth-ite Tara Sharp is going through a mid-twenties life crisis, unemployed,  living in the family granny flat, the owner of a Monaro. One other thing - she can see people’s auras.  Naturally she decides to start a self-help group, become a private investigator and take on Perth’s villains. She’s feisty and sassy, and ideal for fans of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum.’

The best thing about this is being on top of Michael Connelly, who I love!

The Angus and Robertson Top 5 Crime are on the left of the page.
